Here we go again! I am pretty excited to start this project for another year.
To date, I have completed 75% of my Twenty Twelve album. Given that it was my first year attempting Project Life while looking after a baby, I am incredibly proud and excited to have finished so much. Seriously people...give me a medal or something! Moving forward, I know I can take a weekend to power through the remaining 12 weeks that I have left. I have all my notes and photos printed, so really it's just a matter of time. I will not be sharing these on the blog. Mentally, I need / want to move forward.
For this year's title page, I included five photos: a family photo, one of Charlie, one of Rowan as well as photos of Aaron and I holding Rowan indiviudally. Our family photographer snapped them in late November around Rowan's first birthday. I love that I get include them in this year's album. I can't get enough of Pickle's face and smile.
Like everyone else on the planet, I am using the Seafoam kit that was designed by Elise. I love the colour combination and tend to use black, white, grey and blue colours in my regular scrapbook layouts. When it came to picking a kit, Seafoam seemed like an obvious choice for me.
This year, I will be using Design A page protectors as well as Design H and 6 x 12 inserts. Each week, I will complete one 12 x 12 page plus a Design H or 6 x 12 insert. For me, scaling down the project this way relieves some of the pressure to take so many photos. Being a working mama, I only have so much time. Instead of feeling guilty, I consciously decided to give up two page spreads. As a result I've been a much happier scrapbooker. I highly encourage you to do Project Life any way that works for you.
Like last year, I will print all my photos at home using my Epson Stylus 1400 Photo Printer. I use Epson Ultra Premium Photo Paper Glossay and I credit my photo printer as the main reason why I am able to keep up with this project week to week.
This year, I will also be designing my own digital products to get a coeshive look to my album. And from time to time, I will be offering free downloads and printables for purchase. I created the above title cards in PSE using some fun fonts. You are welcome to download the free PNG files here:
Cathy has this fantastic tutorial on how to re-color png files.
Are you doing PL this year?
